Vintage & Velvet | Styled Shoot

Hey Y’all! It’s been a busy month getting 2015 under way at Lindsay Bishop Events, but I am so excited to get this year started with something that I have been dying to share with you for quite some time now. Last year, I spent a lot of time putting together inspiration boards in order to play with new themes, have some fun, and hopefully inspire you with ideas for your own weddings. So, I’m sure that you can imagine how excited I was when I had the opportunity to turn one of my favorite inspiration boards, Vintage & Velvet, into a real life editorial shoot with Chris Richards Photography for Tucson Bride & Groom magazine!

The Vintage & Velvet Shoot was inspired by my love for all things heirloom. While so many brides were focused on the more rustic side of vintage, I wanted to show off how fancy vintage can be by showcasing beautiful cut crystal and stunning silver pieces, while using luxe velvet ribbons to keep the style current.

After lots of planning and refining, I was ready to bring my vision to life!

We began with some stunning paper products from A Fine Line Stationary & Gift Boutique. The flowing calligraphy is accented by the couple’s monogram stamped in the perfect pop of blue. Invitations truly set the tone for the entire event, and we wanted guests to know that this classic wedding would have some fun twists!

As soon as guests arrive, they’re greeted with an unexpected surprise! A tasting bar awaits the gentlemen, stocked with locally crafted bourbon and whiskey in elegant crystal decanters.

I can’t think of a better way to start off a wedding than with some delicious finger foods that fit with your theme, so I asked the talented 2 Hearts 1 Kitchen to update some vintage hors d’oeuvres by giving them a modern twist. They spoiled us with these delicious deviled eggs topped with parmesan crisps. Yum!

Posh Petals created a pretty bouquet filled with garden roses in every shade of pink. It was totally swoon-worthy.

There’s nothing more vintage than a table overflowing with cut crystal, so we decked out the sweetheart table with as much as we could get our hands on. I just loved the idea of using a flowing organza overlay to add some romance, and of course we weren’t about to forget the tall tapered candles!

When it came to the cake, I had a crazy idea. What if we made a cake that looked like cut crystal?  Nikki of 2 Hearts 1 Kitchen did an incredible job piping a Waterford crystal pattern, and brought my vision to life. She even included the couple’s custom monogram on top. It was love at first sight!

As soon as we saw our bride, Sara, in this Tara Keely stunner, the girls at J Bridal Boutique and I knew that it was just perfect.

It was such an amazing day, made possible only by the fact that I was surrounded by the Best. Team. Ever! Thank you all so much for helping to make my vision a reality, and I hope that you enjoyed seeing it come to life as much as I did!
